Turtle Python Coding

I actually found Turtle Python to be easier, or at least more straightforward, than Turtle Blocks. It seemed more logical to me, while also needing more troubleshooting. I am glad we started with Turtle Blocks because it allowed me to build a foundation for the knowledge. When it came to Turtle Python, I did get some errors that I had to work through, but found it more satisfying than frustrating when compared to Turtle Blocks. I was able to work through the problem, rather than just be stuck. I do still feel like I have a lot to learn and play around with, but I feel confident that I can problem-solve, which seems like a key component to coding.

I did have to play around with the arc and distance for a while to get it do (somewhat) of what I wanted it to do. It still isn't perfect, but it got close. I wasn't quite sure how to creatively take it past my initial thought- I was inspired by Harry Potter and creating the Deathly Hallows symbol. Past that, I wanted to create something more abstract and I believe I achieved that. I continued with the circles, switching them back and forth and I found that the turtle flowed really well, which it doesn't do normally when moving it forward and back and left. I definitely think this is a really useful task and I look forward to implementing this in my future classes somehow!

  1. Annie,
    I enjoyed reading this post.
I was glad to hear that the prior experience with TurtleBlocks was helpful and that you found Python Turtle more straightforward, which has definitely become the case for me as well.
